Award winning chef offers scholarship of a lifetime
7th February 2012
Cordon Bleu London and Tom Aikens, Britain's youngest chef to win two Michelin stars, have joined together to offer a 9 month paid apprenticeship with the top chef. The initiative, called 'Le Grand Diplôme Scholarship Award', is looking for one 16-19 year old student to take on the scholarship worth £30,000 that will cover Basic, Intermediate and Superior Cuisine and Superior Pâtisserie.
On the scheme, Aikens said, "I am delighted to team up with Le Cordon Bleu London on this fantastic initiative. I want to offer young students who are passionate about food the chance to really learn the tools of the trade first hand. Working alongside accomplished restaurant staff, the student will be able to experience firsthand many practical aspects of the restaurant business."
The winner of the award will be chosen based on passion and determination, rather than experience and can enter here www.cordonbleu.edu/ukscholarship.
