The BBC has confirmed that celebrity chef Raymond Blanc's BBC Two show 'The Restaurant' will not return to TV screens. The reality show ran for three series, following pairs of aspiring restaurateurs as they competed for the chance to open a restaurant with Blanc's support. The chef is said to be "in discussions" with the BBC regarding other series and projects.
The revelation came as BBC Two launched its autumn and winter schedule. A BBC spokesperson commented that: "the time is right for The Restaurant to close its doors after three successful series."
Food fans will be pleased to hear that a light-hearted restaurant programme is coming to BBC Two. 'The Trip' will star funny men Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon as they tour the north of England reviewing restaurants.
