De Vere Academy Trains Chefs

Opening this week, The De Vere Academy of Hospitality, will train 300 young people every year in the skills they need to work in the hotel sector. Level two apprenticeships in cookery and customer services will be offered by the centre. Students will also be able to gain more experience by working in venues such as Crowne Plaza, Hilton, Marriott and Macdonald hotels. Kellie Rixon, managing director of the De Vere Academy, said: “The De Vere Group recognised the shortage of well trained, experienced individuals available for recruitment in the hospitality industry. Liz Dicastiglione, commercial sales manager at Tranmere Rovers, said: “This academy will offer vital training and career opportunities for unemployed young people across Wirral.
