Restaurateur Paul Heathcote has sold five of his nine eateries to Living Ventures. The sale follows the closure a few months ago of his flagship Liverpool restaurant, Simply Heathcotes. The catering entrepreneur says he will concentrate on his Heathcotes Outside business, which he says continues to grow strongly. "There is no denying it has been tough in the restaurant business over the past three years..There were two main reasons for the decision. The first was that I want to devote more time to growing Heathcotes Outside. The second was that at 50 I didn't want to spend the rest of my life in the car." said Mr Heathcote. Heathcotes Outside used to do the corporate catering at Liverpool FC's Anfield ground, but no longer has that contract. It does have deals with 40 other clubs, including Manchester City and Spurs. The same division does the catering at the Echo Arena and BT Convention Centre.
