Mariposa Care Group has an exciting opportunity available for a Chef to join their team based in our wonderful care home at Westerhope, Newcastle upon Tyne. You will join us on a full-time permanent basis (40 hours per week) on a pay rate of £11.08 per hour plus other benefits.

Briardene is a nursing care home provider and we offer a range of care and support services for residents. The role

The Chef duties are varied, and no two days will be the same. All our care home residents are individuals, and they deserve to be treated as such.

What will you be doing as our Chef?

- Duties of a Chef are varied, and no two days will be the same in the home’s busy kitchen

- As a general guide you will prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals, providing special dietary requirements where necessary for residents

- Planning and costing menus in order to provide a balanced nutritious diet, making the best use of available fresh foods

- Maintaining accurate records and the correct ordering of food supplies and checking of deliveries

- Ensuring all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately and kitchen, dining areas, including equipment, are cleaned to statutory Health and Safety standards.  

What we are looking for in our Chef:

We’re seeking to recruit a creative Chef who has the required knowledge and experience, along with the appropriate level 2/3 catering qualifications, or are working towards them, but also have the right values and behaviours to work in our residential care service – could this be you?
