Southampton Way

Equinox Southampton Way provides supported accommodation and a recovery approach resettlement programme for adult males with enduring mental health problems. We support our service users to maximise their independence and work towards moving on.

We work with our service users to develop a personalised recovery plan, based on their needs, wishes and aspirations. The elements of our recover plans include:

* treatment for mental health problems

* treatment for any associated problems, such as alcohol and drug dependence

* work and employability

* community integration

* leisure and community activities

* planned and phased move towards resettlement

We work through a programme of support and activity with them, to give them the opportunity to re-engage with the community and move on to independent living.

Purpose of Role

Provide varied, healthy, nutritious and balanced meals for service users, which are prepared in line with required food hygiene standards. Ensure that service users are involved in menu planning and that the catering service offered maximises dietary/cultural choice, personal preference and nutritional requirements.

Main Responsibility

* To be a responsible for involving service users in cooking, healthy eating, learning to prepare meals etc

* To be responsible for, and involved in, the preparation and cooking of food.

* To produce and maintain menus that are efficient and cost effective.

* To ensure that time sheets, holiday and sickness forms are completed promptly and submitted to the Service Manager

* To design and cost daily menus keeping within the budget prepared with the Service Manager

* To design & cost hospitality and events menus.

* To ensure a high quality, healthy and diverse menu is provided, taking into account dietary needs of service users.

* To compile risk assessments & due diligence paperwork for catering tasks.

* To comply with due diligence requirements and ensure adequate records are maintained.

* To comply with health and safety regulations in the workplace.

* To comply with COSHH, as trained.

* To follow HACCP in accordance to Food Safety.

* To liaise with the Service Manager ensuring all orders are placed appropriately and that deliveries are audited upon arrival, bearing in mind CQC Regulations.
