About the role
This is a new role that will support the Catering Operations Manager in the running of the catering operation out of a vibrant and busy village café situated in the newly refurbished Folk Hall in New Earswick. This is an attractive and popular village amenity also used for events and weddings, so out client are seeking someone who is able to take this fledgling operation and build it into a successful enterprise.
In addition, you will also have responsibility for the catering provision at their brand new, state of the art Adult Care Home also based in New Earswick.
You will have full responsibility for planning, preparing, cooking and presenting nutritious meals to residents, staff and tailoring your approach to meet the needs of those running events or hosting a wedding. You will be responsible for driving high standards and good quality throughout everything you do. You will also have responsibility for your kitchen team, motivating and managing them to deliver and support the different ventures.
About you
You will be looking for a challenge in a role that gives you the space and support to make significant change to their current modes of operation. You will possess a level 3 qualification in either catering, hospitality or management or be able to demonstrate the equivalent in terms of your past experience and successes within that.
You will be able to demonstrate successful management of a catering function, leading and developing a team and evolving processes to obtain efficiency and value for money. Motivating and inspiring others will come naturally to you and you will be able to show us a passion for food and customer service.
