Head Chef / Executive Sous Chef / Senior Sous Chef / - Stunning Education site – Circa £36,000**

A prestigious private school looking after 1600 pupils are looking for a talented Head Chef / Senior Sous Chef to assist in overseeing the daily operation of this exemplary site.

Working for one of the most respected contact caterers in the industry, you will be responsible for ensuring the large team are working efficiently and to the highest standard.

Educational experience is great and a strong B&I background will definitely be looked upon favourably, as the site looks to push its food offering and hospitality business, you will be reporting into the Executive Chef off the site so will have a great level of support when entering into the new business.

The role is a varied one and as such we would consider backgrounds from various avenues; if you have previously been a Head Chef, Chef Manager, Hospitality Chef or Senior Sous Chef and are able to support your team as well as ensuring suitable menus are of a consistent high level of food quality then we would love to hear from you.

You will inspire others with your knowledge and passion for your craft with a flair for all things food; you will assess the service offer and identify how to deliver required improvements through a site development programme and action plan.

You will be required to;

• To control portion size and monitor waste.

• To ensure supplies are correctly issued, used and accounted for to carry out stock takes and food rotation procedures.

• To maintain records relating to food production activities and supplier information as required by the Catering Manager and the Executive Chef.

• To ensure Health and Safety and Food Safety Standards are maintained in line with company policy.

• To set objectives and be responsible for the day to day running of the kitchens including supervising the recruitment and selection process to ensure that if effectively meets the need of the location.

• To assess employee performance and recognise training needs and potential as appropriate.

• To hold team meetings on a regular basis to communicate targets, standards required and company and client information.

In addition to the above you will be responsible for maintaining an open and collaborative relationship with the client, ensuring the excellent site standards are maintained.

This is a 52 week contract mainly Monday to Friday with daytime hours, although a degree of flexibility would be expected as there will be some evenings and weekend days required for events and sporting occasions.
