Description

You will share the same passion for great service, food and drink that we do! You will be a natural leader and innovator experienced in managing operations in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment with the ability to build and inspire great teams and communicate with different stakeholders (clients, client appointed representatives and Mitie) to meet a range of operational and commercial requirements. As Head of Operations you will manage a number of Gather & Gather integrated or strategic accounts and/or client relationships with multiple sites. You will have great commercial acumen and act to make a positive difference every day and inspire your leadership team to do the same especially in periods of change. We want you to plan ahead and excel in engaging with your key stakeholders to manage and maintain positive client relationships, leading your team to meet contract requirements front and back of house. We also want you to contribute to wider business initiatives and projects. Key responsibilities and accountabilities Food and Service Development 
• Ensure that the client expectations of food and food service are consistently delivered and measured and are in line with the Gather & Gather brand across contract(s). 
• Proactively make suggestions to clients regarding innovation in food and food service to develop the business at the relevant site. 
• Work collaboratively with the food team and influence as required to ensure client requirements are met. 
• Set clear expectations to the operation managers and site teams regarding food and service standards to ensure that all services provided are of the highest standards and are in line with our brand. 
• Ongoing review of the service and food provided in sites, provide feedback to the operation and site management team ensuring any necessary changes are incorporated into the service provision. • Proactively make suggestions to clients regarding innovation in food and food service to develop the business at each site. 
• In unprecedented times you will have to ensure via “Teams” calls that all your managers and clients are communicated too regularly via this method. • Develop and sustain strong working relationships with the relevant clients at the individual business and Integrated Account clients within Mitie. 
• Conduct appropriate proactive business review meetings with relevant clients to ensure that all targets, objectives and service level agreements are being met. 
• Ensures that excellent customer service is delivered throughout area or responsibility /portfolio. 
• Actively gain customer feedback when present at any service and use the information to drive improvements at any given site. 
• Leads and feedback to teams to ensure they can meet client needs, makes decisions with clients’ needs in mind. 
• Where appropriate develops a retention strategy for each client and responsible for the retender process for client sites in portfolio. 
• Ensure all sites achieve the financial targets agreed with the client and company in line with the budget. Protect company income and facilitate financial organic growth where possible. 
• If necessary, where budget is not being achieved support and lead the Operations and Site Managers to identify and implement a strategy, in a timely manner, to overcome the shortfall. 
• Ensure all sites have accurate and efficient financial control systems and site managers are trained to interpret and use the information to achieve all targets. 
 
  


  

Requirements

  • Is a persuasive and articulate communicator
  •  Has prior experience of inspiring and leading remote and multi-site management team
  •  A passion for keeping up to date with what’s current in food & coffee
  •  High level of numeracy and literacy
  •  Ability to travel on a regular basis throughout the UK, overnight stays may be required as well as weekend and evening working on occasion
  •  Innovative and commercially aware
