Part-time Chef at Sturt House

Position: Chef – based at Sturt House, Walton-on-the-Hill

Hours: 22.5 hours (3 days per week/weekend from 10am – 6pm)

Salary: £12,150 per annum (based on a full-time salary of £20,250)

Sturt House

We provide male patients over the age of 18 and suffering from enduring mental health issues an inpatient step down service.

The role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Chef to join our friendly team. In return, we can provide a flexible, rewarding and supportive working environment with the opportunity to be part of a team which makes a real difference to the lives of patients.

Our Chef role involves:

Assisting with the provision of a catering service at Sturt House with particular emphasis on the planning, preparation, cooking and serving of meals, taking account of any special requests or dietary requirements within the unit.

Assisting with the cost-effective and efficient control of stock including placing orders for food

products and the checking/reconciliation of deliveries. Ensure that wastage is minimised.

Assisting with researching and creating new menus ensuring meals are of a high

quality and compliment healthy eating guidelines.

To be successful as Bank Chef you will need

NVQ3 or equivalent or Qualified by Experience in Catering together with a basic qualification in food hygiene.

Experience of working within a professional kitchen environment.
