Lifetime Achievment Award for Basque Chef

Known as the father of New Basque Cuisine, Juan Mari Arzak has been chosen to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award this year. The Lifetime Achievement Award by
S. Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurant Awards. His daughter Elena Arzak was also shortlisted for the World's Best Female Chef this year but lost to France's Anne-Sophie Pic. Since taking over his family's restaurant in 1966, Arzak's kitchen has revolved around two intimate and highly personal themes: his birthplace and family.
