National Chef Of The Year Finalist

A chef who started out working in McDonalds is through to the final of the 2011 National Chef of the Year.

Hayden Groves, now a chef at Lloyds of London, said "I'm obviously really pleased to have got this far - it's a tough competition judged by Michelin-star chefs and key industry figures."

Competition organiser and vice president of the Craft Guild of Chefs, David Mulcahy said "The final is set to take the competition to another level and all competitors will need to be at the very top of their game."

The final will take place next month at the Restaurant Show in London.
