Roadchef Creates 400 Jobs

Motorway service operator Roadchef is to create more than 400 jobs over the next five years as it plans to overhaul its catering facilities at 10 key sites around the UK. The £12m redevelopment will increase headcount by 20%. Roadchef currently employs 2,000 members of staff at its 19 motorway service areas across the UK. Simon Turl, CEO of Roadchef, said: "This investment is the cornerstone of our business improvement plan which has been under development for the past two years. Thankfully, the sector has ridden the recession well, meaning we are now in a good position to realise our ambitions of taking Roadchef to the next level. By regenerating and strengthening our branded and in-house portfolio, we strongly believe we will redefine the face of motorway catering."
