Are you a chef who loves cooking but would also
love to ski (or learn to ski)? Then we're looking for
you!
We're looking for a chef who will love to
run his/her own kitchen cooking for our guests in our chalet/hotels in the picturesque resort of Megève,
France. NB You must be an EU passport holder i.e. issued in France, Spain, Ireland etc. or have a french working permit which you can get with a Canadian or Australian passport but not at the moment with a UK passport. Please do not apply if you only have a UK passport as sadly right now we can't get the relevant paperwork to be able to employ you.
If this is your first time doing a ski season and/or running your own kitchen, then we will give you help to get started with set menus but once you're into the swing of it you're welcome to vary them. We're looking for someone who can cook with flair and imagination and make delicious meals for our guests but also who is keen to balance their time in the kitchen with lots of skiing!

The Job
- Cooking breakfast, cake for afternoon tea, and a 3-course evening
meal for around 30 guests in your chalet 6 days a week;
- Taking responsibility for food hygiene standards and processes
in your kitchen;
- Ordering food to your chalet;
- Stock control, stock rotation and wastage minimisation.
- Working with one chalet host, a flexi host and a manager as a
team so you help each other out to ensure our guests have a great
holiday!
As a relatively small company, we’re open to individual ideas
and originality in our kitchens. We will give you set menu plans and
templates to get you started, but one of the best things about
working for us is your freedom to be creative and not cook the same
meals week-in, week-out if you would like to. We pride ourselves on the standard of
cuisine that we offer and want you to be part of it.
The Setup
-Two chalet-hotels in Megève: the Rond Point and the Sylvana
plus our superior chalet Les Clochettes and some self-catered
apartments;
-Five members of staff in each: Manager, Chef, Assistant and
two Hosts; plus a chef and a host in Les Clochettes
-Resort Manager, Maintenance Person and Resort Administrator in
resort for support

to enjoy: skiing. Megève is a great resort with a large ski area
and fantastic off-piste. We like to ensure that our staff are
happy, partly because happy staff makes happy guests but also
because we are out in Megève for most of the season and we like to
work with people who are enjoying themselves. A lot of our
staff have remained our very good friends.

- Great cooking skills and experience
- Chef qualifications including Food Hygiene level 2 minimum
- An organised, constructive, passionate approach to work
- A friendly, flexible, team-orientated personality; you’ll be
working as part of a team of five, although you will be the only
chef
