School Chef Nominated for BBC Award

26th Oct 2010

Bob Davies, Head chef at Easingwold school in North Yorkshire has been selected as a finalist in the public caterer category of BBC Radio 4's 'Food and Farming Awards'. Easingwold runs one of the most profitable secondary school canteens in North Yorkshire because Bob's food is so popular. Many staff also eat school dinners and buy food to take home. The school say they nominated Bob for the awards because of his never-ending drive to make school dinners healthy but also deliciously appealing to young people. The winners will be announced at the BBC Good Food Show on 24th November in Birmingham. Bob says he is excited by the BBC Food and Farming nomination and sees it as an excellent platform to continue to develop the service: "Raising food standards is an ongoing project and we have to keep up with the times. Keeping the kids interested in good food is an evolving, never-ending programme."
