Stephen Terry to open Cardiff restaurant
30th November 2012
Stephen Terry said his new restaurant would stay true to the simple philosophy and good food that has seen The Hardwick in Abergavenny become one of the most highly rated in Wales.
"There's a good market in Cardiff and we've got a good following of people always asking us if we'll come to the city," said Stephen. "I'd like the restaurant to be somewhere with a lot of chimney pots and front doors. It will not be in the city centre, I can guarantee that."
Stephen, who won a Michelin star for his food at The Walnut Tree in 2002, explained he would split his time between the two restaurants while making sure standards at The Hardwick remained high, "I'm at the level of my career where I employ a good head chef, someone with a good history and pedigree, to follow direction and run a good restaurant."
He added that he plans to hire most people from Cardiff. "I'm looking at hiring 20 people at least," he said.
